Solar Energy Around Your Home
You may be surprised to learn that solar energy use has been around for over 100 years, during the industrial revolution the sun was used to produce steam which would then drive turbines generating power.
The technology we use today does not rely on steam but the charging of electrons contained within solar cells made of semi-conductive material. Solar technology is not in it's infancy. We should have much more confidence in the energy we are able to harness from the sun then we do now, maybe the energy companies and until recently our own government didn't want us to? The tax receipts from free energy are unsurprisingly pretty low.
In case you hadn't noticed the UK's oil and gas has nearly run out and we are now a net importer of energy. The russians will take care of us though, right? With oil, coal and gas supplies reducing at a rapid rate across the world with emerging economies such as China and India gobbling up whats left what do you think?
Everyday much more energy hits your rooftop than the energy coming into your home through wires. In just 30 minutes the sun supplies enough energy to the earth to provide all of the planets energy requirements for a year. We have the techology to harness this energy, it is not complicated, anyone with an understanding of plumbing and electrics can understand this.
With the earth facing unprecedented pressures due to in no small part the burning of fossil fuels and the era of cheap energy quite firmly over there are no excuses, lets get this moving, lets face it the present situation is just plain dumb. Now is the time to take conrol of your energy future, who else will?
